The Specialist

BoyKitty the specialist today. Total wait time was an hour and she spoke to me for a total of five mins. She listened to his heart and talked really fast and was out of there. Granted, they had a medical emergency but they left me in a room for a half hour waiting on her to sign a piece of paper. This bugged me.

Boy Kitty had bloodwork done in late April BEFORE he was put on hyper-T medicine. This visit, as I understood it, was supposed to be an evaluation AND bloodwork. Instead her suggestions were

1. INCREASE dose to 1/2 tablets twice daily.
2. Sub-Q every day
3. Come in two weeks for bloodwork. So he's been on hyper-t meds for a month and we don't know how he's doing on .25 tablet twice daily and yet now she wants me to increase to half tablet twice daily. Does this sound right?
4. She said he has a heart murmur but said she will reassess in the future.

This five minute visit: $92.00

My initial reaction is go back to the vet that I love and talk with her. Plus, bloodwork through my original vet is cheaper.

Thoughts? Should I increase or should I make an appointment to see my original vet, have bloodwork done, and then get her opinion??
